Case Study - Early Stage CPG Company

Company Size: Pre-Seed

Objective: Oversee as COO & CPO, develop a product roadmap and prepare company with partnerships and capabilities to produce product for early customers. 

Target: Readiness in 3 months to support 40 stores.

Timeline: 3 months.

I was brought in by a new CPG company as an interim COO and CPO to help them build the right products so as to deliver to their first retailer at 40 potential stores. The company consisted of a Founder/product formulator, and a marketer/sales expert. They needed manufacturing, product roadmap, and supply chain expertise to deliver product consistently to this first customer. 

 

What I Delivered:

  • A new partnership with a strong co-manufacturer
  • Strong oversight of initial cost, including negotiation with co-manufacturer and critical ingredient suppliers.
  • Initial warehousing solutions locally, with planning and internal structure to deliver consistently.
  • A reasonable product roadmap of the founder’s vision based on manufacturability and market insights.
  • Similified internal prioritization cadence to align all internal actions.
  • Playbook and recommendations on next 5 hires to grow the company efficiently.
